About Steven Hunter Consulting, LLC
Steven Hunter is an accomplished, principled, and visionary business leader with demonstrated acumen in Underwriting, Analytics, Operations, Business Development, and Risk-Modeling. Steven developed, implemented, and managed the first MCA-specific Risk Scoring Models in the industry, models that have since been expanded to predict merchant behavior in other FinTech products. In 13 years as CAN Capital's Senior Underwriter and Senior VP of Operations, Steven developed the most comprehensive knowledge of MCA Underwriting, Risk Modeling and Operations in the industry.
After leaving CAN in September 2013, Steven formed Hunter Consulting, LLC and has consulted with non-traditional business finance providers in San Francisco, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Miami, and the UK. Hunter Consulting has assisted companies in areas including Operations, Risk Management, Underwriting, and capital raises, and has developed over two dozen proprietary scoring models for clients. Steven has personally Underwritten over 65,000 businesses while hiring and training dozens of Underwriters and Operations professionals.
Steven developed the SC1, SC2 and SC3 models for CAN Capital, the Knight Vision model for Knight Capital and the RAM model for Rapid Finance, in addition to dozens of additional models and scorecards for non-traditional business Funding providers. Additionally, Steven has developed complete Operational workflows, with the scoring models at the center of the processes, for 30+ FinTech companies, recently including Radium2 Capital in New York and Merit Business Funding in Philadelphia.
